What Should Be Done About The Lead Contamination From All The “made In China” Products Being Sent To Landfills

Last I heard, they will not be sending them to landfills. Mattel doesn’t know how to dispose of them. I’ll link the news story if I can find it. It was a week or so ago since I read that, so maybe the situation has changed since then.http://cbs2chicago.com/topstories/topstoâ€¦
I suppose some consumers still throw them away, so even if Mattel/Fisher Price take care of them responsibly (if that’s possible) there will still be lead from them in the landfills. I really don’t know what should be done. Do you?

I am looking for a career that will allow me to see the world. No just go to china for a business meeting or paris for a fashion show, I mean a job that will take me down the amazon river, and through the arctic tundra and maybe to the jungle in India. I loooooove to travel and I want to see as much of the earth as I possibly can. I want to personally see the wonders of the world. I am pretty smart, especially in math and science. I really want to help people also. My philosophy is if I’m going to live on this earth I might as well see it, and help people along the way. Kyle Rothstein, a seventeen-year-old American teenager, is very popular in Shanghai because he speaks Chinese almost like a native.
His father, Jay Rothstein, knew that China would become more and more important in the present-day world economy, and he enrolled Kyle in an English-Mandarin school in San Francisco when he was five years old.
“I knew that this decision would not be easy,” his father said. Kyle often cried, saying, ‘I’m not Chinese. Why do I have to learn Chinese?’”
But soon the benefits became obvious. At the age of twelve, Kyle had socialized with two American presidents and with a large number of Chinese officials and celebrities, and he also had appeared in four Chinese television programs.
Now, at the age of seventeen, Kyle lives in Shanghai and is the lead actor in a film, “Milk and Fashion,” about a young American living in China.

Nokia have three manufacturing plants worldwide. Two in the west (Finland and Poland) and one in China. Nokias new models are first made in China and then distributed in the far east at least 6 months before they are released in the west. This gives them time to iron out any software glitches etc before being made in Finland/Poland for western distribution. Some western distributors do import from the far east in an attempt to hook new customers with handsets no one else can get, unfortunately most of them are recalled, however they have your signature on contract by then and replace the eastern ones when they are made in Finland/Poland.
