The Late Tina Chow nee Lutz (1951-1992) was a famous Japanese-American model in the ’70s and ’80s. She modelled for cosmetics giant Shiseido, and designers such as Lagerfeld, and sat for photographers such as Eric Boman
She was married to Retaurateur Michael Chow from 1971 till 1990.
She became a regular amongst artists such as Warhol, Haring and Basquiat who converged at ‘Mr Chow’s where she was the polite hostess. Tina amassed a covetable couture collection that was curated by Harold Koda of FIT and in a tome: ‘Flair:Fashion Collected By Tina Chow.’
Later in her life Tina became a successful jewellery designer of bamboo and crystal artifacts.
Tina is the sister of Adelle Lutz who is married to David Byrne of Talking Heads. The Model Actress China Chow is Tina’s daughter with Michael Chow.
Tina died from AIDS at her Pacific Palisades home on Janaury 24 1992.
