My neighbors started their celebration after supper on New Year’s Eve. Not as impressive as the display at midnight, but still plenty loud.

Midnight, February 18, 2007. Impressive spontaneous fireworks by my neighbors as they brought in the Year of the Pig here in Ningbo, China. Hard to believe, but this is NOT a professional or organized display, just ordinary people celebrating.

Fireworks on a Ningbo Morning

This video was taken around 8:30 am outside my apartment window before I went to work. This was 6 days before the Spring Festival ended and had been happening like clockwork every morning for the 1st 2 weeks I was in Ningbo. They have since stopped and I can sleep a little longer now.
