I remember this place well. I was a mere lad when I taught a mere Clonbrook at Govt. School in the mid-1970s, before moving to the U.S.. The students loved me. I adored them. For most, this was their first daily interaction with a black guy. They would run their fingers through ‘my’ wiry ‘hair and bring me fruits during the mid-day recess. I remember them all, the Ramkelawans, Sattaurs, Madhus. . . just wonderful kids. It’s because of you I started teaching again after a career in the foreign service.
