@ TheAntiochus I believe you misunderstand, then. Nuclear and atomic technology was being built by the Germans, but the Manhattan Project as an American endeavor. Though the basis of the technology came from the findings of German scientists (most notably Albert Einstein), the first successful construction of an atomic bomb was American.
@ ROFLSoup It is not certain that Western Allies would win. Soviet Union which came from WW2 as a very strong power-and that was a fact regardless ideologies! The truth is the world without nukes would be in chaos because both of them would fight to the end! Peace existed after 1945 because measures and counter measures would destroy nearly all of humanity and Earth woud be a rather dead planet! Not to say that none of the competetors in Cold War was enough well protected from a nuclear strike!

@ Darthkarr if Nuclear weapons had not existed the Soviet Union would’ve marched on after 1945 and controlled Europe. Their standing army far surpassed anything the West could muster well into the 1980′s.

For once I was hoping that the soviet ending would be canon. . . after all, they have been hyping it as a soviet centric game (the plot, the opening, the menu theme and the adverts all revolves around the soviet characters). Uprising could be about the Empire and the Allies uprising against the Soviets (thus aptly named uprising, not some broken up story between the sides handling their own private businesses)
@ Darthkarr so wait. . . . Einstein travels back to elimate Hitler, and then Tim Curry goes back to elimate Einstein so nukes are never made, never rises to power Germany, WW2 never happens. . . . or is it. . . . wait. . . . what? ARGH! This franchise makes my brain hurt!

@ Darthkarr At the end of WW2 the USSR had the greatest land force and air force in the world. They were only lacking in naval power. If it had not been for the atomic bomb, the USSR would have rolled over Europe and the U.S. faced on two fronts. Do you really think they mounted in Manchuria assault just to back up the U.S.? But with the atomic bomb, the United States were invincible. . No matter how many men, tanks, planes or ships you sent, they had the ultimate weapon. That’s why USSR time traveled in RA3

Not likely the outcome of Red Alert One would have changed due to altering the past in the beginning of Red Alert Three – without I easily beat the original Red Alert the use of the Chronosphere, Which has always proven to be more trouble then it’s worth . So with no nukes or defending that POS Chronosphere troublesome, many of the harder missions Red Alert would not have taken place.

@ Darthkarr Actually the soviet union outnumberd the rest of the allies combined by over 5 to 1 in europe and the U.S. could of EASILY booted out of ? if we didn’t hasve nukes.
