A coin purse is a tiny zippered pouch that is utilized to keep and transport loose change and other small items. First, cut and then iron down all of your fabric pieces so that they lie down flat and are free of wrinkles. Then, stick your short zipper between the fabric lining and outer piece with the design facing inside. Pin the fabric so that they are totally lined up and then carefully sew them all together. Flip over the piece and repeat the steps again with the other square.

Though it is not a necessary step, you should still consider sewing down the homemade purse’s interior lining. It will only take you a couple of seconds for each edge and it will make sure that the fabric does not ever come loose and get tangled with the zipper.

To stitch up the purse’s sides, plan your seam width, half an inch is advised, and be sure the squares of fabric are evenly lined up. Be extra careful when you arrive at the bottom part of the zipper as you will have to avoid sewing its metal teeth. Remove the extra piece of zipper, throw it away, and then start sewing the other side. If you wish to add a fabric handle, pick the fabric length and design and then stitch up the seams. Put the handle inside the item’s open side so that a few centimeters are inside and then stitch over it.

Sew the two squares of wadding between the lining and outer fabric one at a time. Stitch around all three sides so keep the material from seeping out. Then, turn the purse inside out so that the design you chose is facing out.

Allow your iron to warm up as you turn out all of the purse’s corners. Then softly press on them with the heated iron. Avoid pressing down too hard on the wadding because the material might end up burning or melted.

Finally, you are all ready to sew up the last of the interior lining. To make a clean seam simply turn in the jagged edges and stitch across them. When you are done, place the lining back into the item and begin admiring your newly made homemade creation. Its small size makes it great for storing in purses or pockets, and if you attached a fabric handle, it can be clipped to a key chain too.
