the clothes are fantastic but a lot of the pencil skirts hindered leg movement and took away from the beauty. a longer slit in the back wouldve helped them.
Well, then if it’s art, then present it as such. Perhaps a gallery exhibition with an explanation of the concept behind the shoe would be more appropriate in that case. However, this is a shoe, put on a woman’s foot. One expects the shoe to fulfill it’s purpose in that case. Plus GOOD design is both beautiful and functional; function and beauty are 2 leitmotivs which drive Eastern design.
I love this collection !! i think this couture season, Amarni win Galliano is there is a fight between them. . . those holey-holey lace is awesome and i personally love 4:00 shiny black gown !! this chinese inspired collection is magnificent. . . love the music but i dont really like the hair. . .
Though, the only misstep are the shoes (pun intended). They’re hobbling, and one notices some models struggling to stay afoot. The immobilizing shoes perhaps draw an unpleasant parallel to Chinese foot binding.
LOVE the Paul Pioroit shapes. How appropriate – another couturier who paid beautiful homage to the East. Bravo, Mr. Armani. You grow with leaps and bounds every collection.
I don’t agree with those statements at all. This is an elegant collection which pays respectful tribute to the decorative arts of the East. I LOVE the pagoda shapes; I think the pagoda is one of the most elegant shapes in design. This is a dignified, elegant collection which quietly shows the skill of the designer, the skill of the “petit mains”, & the impeccable taste of the wearer. This collection is like a heady trip overseas. All these attributes are considered what good couture should be.
I like the Chinese references, but somehow it’s too much. Pagoda sleeves, shiny materials, fringes. . . I wish he’d tone down a bit. Some of the gowns are really beautiful though, like the red one on Tatyana, the ones on Vlada and Natasha!
why did it have to be so literal and “chinese-y”. a pagoda sleeve here and a lacquered red sequin gown there would have been enough. Mr. Armani pulled out every cliche in the book, it’s surprsing he didn’t tape back their eyes galliano-style
his clothes are kinda standard of elegance and modernism .

although I see your point. . . it is COUTORE which means that everything is not suppose to be meant to wear normally but a representation of art.
