  1. i just didn’t understand what was galliano thinking when the last year only presented huge gowns during the hole colection and here a super ready to wear couture colection. but i really liked it.

  2. As Tears Go By – Marianne Faithfull
    Femme Fatal – Velvet Underground
I’m Going to Make a Cake (from The Hours Soundtrack) – Philip Glass
Like A Rolling Stone – Bob Dylan

For my A level textiles project, I am using the theme ‘Poor Little Rich Girl’ and featuring the film Factory Girl. The first part of this show is inspired by the same film and this is the only catwalk collection I have been able to find with this theme. i would be really greatful if anybody could reccomend any similar shows. Thankyou (in advance) for you help

it is dior couture just not couture you would expect , this is what couture was in its hay day of the 50′s and 60′s not saying its not as big now but its more pricey

  5. Actually, my mistake, it is couture. Even the sunglasses were in croco. Dior had a lot of croco in stock.

  6. I suppose one can’t expect any less than absolute luxe when it comes to couture, as simple as it may look and as I try to understand it further I see the point of this collection now. The first part is super-wearable and commercial while the second is the drama, yet fairly subtle being Galliano.

One thing though, some of those red dresses with the puff back are. . . not flattering.

  7. This isn’t a haute couture show, just another badly titled video.

  8. All the accessories were in crocodile, very supple crocodile, and the tanks were i silk jersey, made-to-measure crocodile caps and boots anyone?

For this season he felt that he had become too predictable so he wanted to change to a softer and more modest collection :)

  10. the model with the blue gown trips a 4:35

  11. I agree, those black tank-tops just leave me scratiching my head. But it is probably just some genious move from Galliano anyhow. He, if anyone, knows couture.

  12. i wish john is more a bit like this again! brilliant stuff

  13. I don’t see the Haute couture on those first pieces. . . but if John says so. . . I believe him

can’t really see the clothing details.

  15. THANKS! so much!

  16. but haute couture is supposed to be masterpieces of hand tailoring and visionary never before seen work by the designer.

    was this galiano?

  17. “I’m Going to Make a Cake (from The Hours Soundtrack) by Philip Glass

  18. I am not sure of the title, but it sounds like Philip Glass.

  19. anyone know the song around 6:14. . i think its a stunning piece of music! :)

and just think about trying to sew all of those leather and crocodile jackets and pants and tops by hand. thats what makes this collection so special. even though everything isnt covered in beading and sequins, they are made from the best materials and all constructed without sewing machines

Some people might find it a tad boring but this is my favourite Haute Couture show for Dior. Edie Sedgwick, the Renaissance, Empress Joséphine. . it’s just a great mix! And certainly I like Marianne Faithfull singing Femme Fatale.

  22. the vocalist is marianne faithfull, a LEGEND, you probably listen to britney spears or gross hip hop

  23. It’s a cover of Like a Rolling Stone by Bob Dylan

  24. its very haute couture specially with the extremely expensive croc fabric and the last section inspired my empress josephine which had so much haute couture hand embelishments and draping

  25. wht was the last song?
