Our company sells items online on behalf of various clients. One client has asked us to peel off the In labels on certain products shipping the order to a customer. Is this legal?

Well, if you don’t tell us where you are, how can we advise you as to the legalities in your country.

In case, it would be dishonest.

Only if you want to take a chance on paying fines and the possibility of a stay in a federal prison.

All goods imported and sold in the United States must be labeled as to their country of origin. It is a violation for a seller to remove any such labels.

If you care to look up the exact wording the law in question took effect in 1891.

    Good luck
