Ha ha ha, it is so “Dynasty”. The pictures and the featured couture are very bad 80′s. Useful for Halloween, if you want a “Blanche” making outfit. Not a good buy, but I’m too fat / lazy to get it for a refund. Rating: 5.1
As a professional sewing, I’m always looking for new insights. This book has not caught on. Some of the information technology was interesting, but the examples are really hienous. The whole point of couture is a great result. Schaeffer has a much better work approaches the subject. Rating: 5.2
They say that good fashion is never dates and so with the advice and guidance in true couture detail: The Art of Fine Sewing. Having said this, perhaps some of the old techniques are no longer required, such as “shrinkage” – not less interessant.Einige good tips for sewing for the construction of the style as Chanel Rose.Es is a must as a reference for good Nähen.Dianne Passalick Rating: 5.4
I’m new to THE WORLD OF COUTURE Although I am an ADVANCED SEWER, and this book has opened a whole new world in SEWING QUALITY. THIS book defines what the art of couture and is explained very clearly the techniques in sewing COUTURE INVOLVED, MOST showed surprising that Couture is synonymous with fine hand stitching. . . Very little, if any machine WORK. CLEAR ON HAND embroidery concise instructions, HAND FINISHING and many photo examples of couture designer techniques. I’VE JUST spent hours trying to look at the pictures and say “WOW! What Works of Art”. The book is clearly written, INFORMATION bear so that the book is great for REFERENCE, also beautiful with color and black-and-white photographs illustrate. Rating: 5.5
The photos of the finished outfits are looking very dated, exaggerated and not really looking couture. They look like someone trying not shown too much to do to a garment. However, the instructions for how the techniques make him well. I give it 4 stars because the finished products are not very inspiring. Rating: 5.4
