I have design concept for a computer mouse. How would I get prototype to be made? China? How?
I’m wondering who to contact regarding a possible business venture. I only have drawings that are done in photo shop.
I could possibly construct it using a 3d application. I’m willing to share my ideas because their a dime a dozen but this idea
is very specific. The mouse would be bluetooth. The materials are pretty specific.
The factory usually don’t make prototype for free unless its a name they heard or trust like Logictec. To open a tool on your design usually cost anywhere between $2000 and up. Selling your idea to large company won’t work because its too easy for them to modify your design and put it on market. If you really want a prototype, check http://www.alibaba.com for factories that produce mouses and contact them to see how much is it for the tooling. Of course, they will tell you to show them your design so they could quote a price. Copyright law isn’t all that developed in China if you know what I mean. You could also work with a mouse manufacturer here and before you show your design, have them sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement. This way you are protected.
