  1. It IS the same for many. Gosh I love that you pointed that out! I’m so sick of hearing about how Walmarts the bad guy for selling stuff from China when the people that all say that are freakin hypocrites! They’re the one’s wearing all the name brand crap and preaching this b.s. I have to say, I wear a lot of name brand crap so I know that my Nike’s aren’t made in the US (they’re made in vietnam) Fox Riders – made in guatemala. Tony Hawk – made in Bangledesh. Lee Jeans and Anchor Blue jeans – made in Mexico. However I don’t go around biching that nothing at Wal-mart is made in the USA. that would be false anyways – Hanes underwear are. :P

  2. It’s true for most stores now, but simply because the majority of the manufactured goods you buy is made in China.
According to the professor in my business class in college, Walmart is responsible for many manufacturers moving their facilities to China.
One of the stories that was told was there was a company manufacturing rubber gloves in the US, a representative from Walmart took their product to a company in China and asked how much it would cost to manufacture the gloves there. Armed with this information, Walmart went to the US manufacturer, and told them that if they couldn’t bring their manufacturing costs in line with the Chinese factory, Walmart would not carry their product.
Supposedly, they did the same thing to a company that was manufacturing padlocks in the US.

  3. all the big chains are the same it is almost impossible to find anything made in the u.s.a. even veggies are imported.forget about shoes or clothes.we live in a Society of international importing.good luck finding any thing made in your owen country.

  4. Walmart isn’t the only one, so its hard to single them out. Most of the stories you hear about them leading it, are a bunch of union garbage.

  5. From what I have read, Walmart has around 5000 vendors. 4000 of those vendors are in China.
