Are Koreans More Honestly Blunt Than Chn/jap?

I know in Japan people usually lie just to appease a person, kinda the same thing in China, but not as intense. the Chinese don’t like accepting things, but love giving out things, ironic isnt it?
For example, If a Korean saw a realy unfashionable or drunk person, would they comment about it to that person’s face? or pretend to ignore it or lie and say “…you have an interesting fashion?”

  1. I may be stereotyping a bit here, but this is what it is generally like in Korea:
Many people mainly ignore passerby and mind their own business. They don’t say anything to their face but afterwards, they may go snicker with another person. My mother often believes that what Koreans do is better than what the Japanese do, because they aren’t LYING, but merely ignoring and later speaking rudely.
    -_-’ It’s a bit odd, I guess…

  2. From what I have seen, Koreans ignore anyone they don’t know. I’ve seen plenty of people passed out drunk in the street, on the sidewalk, and on the subway. No one has ever checked to see if they’re okay. I mean there a guy was literally in the street and no one seemed to give it a second thought. In my country we would check to see if he was dead or call the police or an ambulance. In my experience Koreans are quick to say if they can’t do something, unlike the Chinese who talk around the block for an hour before saying they don’t think they can do whatever it is. Chinese don’t like to say no even when they know that is the answer.

  3. well, that really depends on the individual.
but generally speaking, most koreans will probably ignore people in the street that they don’t know unless they’re being harassed.
