  1. Mainly because things can be made cheaper in China/Taiwan. Instead of paying workers in the USA $10+ an hour, they can pay people in China/Taiwan $10 a day. It all comes down to dollars and cents and making more money.

  2. Chinese is cheap labor. Because it is a communist totalitarian country with a large desperate workforce, it’s easy for 75% of the world’s manufacturing to be done there. We all try to ignore the fact that their corrupt leaders only keep persecuting their people and only intend on world domination.
Taiwn is a different matter entirely. While once a maker of inexpensive products, now they make some of the best quality electronics in the world.

  3. Because Richard Nixon and corporate interests decided to utilize China’s billions of people for money making purposes. A Chinese person will assemble products for much less than an American would do the same job. Corporations make a lot more money this way. This has put many Americans out of a job. It all started in the 1970s.
By the way, Walmart always claimed they sold only American made products. Isn’t that funny?

  4. they work for little food, little complaining, & little wages,

  5. Where will you buy if you were offered the Pizza you liked.
one sells for $8 one for $13
    both taste the same.
    that should answer the question.
the nixon answer was pure conspiracy theory.
suppy and demand make the prices move up and down.

  6. because its cheaper out their to make stuff.

  7. It’s easy. In China, people are paid 23 cents an hour.http://www.nlcnet.org/resources/wages.ht…
    There’s more.
Two thirds of China’s people live on less than $1/ day
Market rate for unskilled labor: $0.60/ hour
Skilled workers in China earn $100-$150/ month for 50-65 hours/ week.
Unskilled workers get $50-70/ month (presumably for same hours)
The average income for a rural resident (population: 700 million) in China is $286/ year
    AND HERE’S THE REAL REASON:
As many as 30 Chinese workers can be hired for the cost of one cabinetmaker in North Carolina http://home.alltel.net/bsundquist1/gcib.…

  8. The Chinese will work for a lot less, they don’t have the labour laws we have. I try and buy things made locally, but it’s getting harder and harder to find them. The funny thing is they usually don’t cost that much more, which goes to show just how much profit the companies that outsource their labour to China must be making!

  9. cos labour is inexpensive over there so companies move their factories to china.
