The Western World Needs A New Political/economic System: Should We Look To China?
For the first time in history, and more by chance than design, China has a more or less open (“free enterprise”) economy under the all-powerful control of a formidable govt apparatus totally dominated by that potentially incorruptible organisation, the Communist Party.
The C.P.is far less like to get in cahoots with big business, because of their huge responsibility to the people. It’s been said : “Power corrupts : absolute power corrupts absolutely”. But this refers to a different kind of power – the old-fashioned kind, taken by coup, trickery or Divine Right. The C.P. knows all about that kind and will, ideally, avoid it like the plague.
I’ve always said that religion is the only hope against corruption in business, govt or finance – and Achmadinejad repeated this – but religion is on the way out.
Communism is a kind of religion : a religion backed by its own invincible power. It seems to be on the way out, but remember, new ideas usually have false starts. Herein, like it or not, seems to lie a good hope.
No really. China is the most complicated system in the world. There are totally 56 tribes to form a country where Han is the majority ( 88% of total population) It is forced to take socialism in order to properly ruling the country and reduce the influence of ancient culture especially on racism. With openness policy, China is migrating to social democracy but it seems reaching to its limit as so many voice on independence of minorities.
Perhaps, the best of Chinese can do is to provide some hints for a balanced development of social democracy with free-market policy
beware of those with slanty eyes.
