Nothing. In fact, people would be poorer. Walmart would not go out of business but would certainly shrink. I guess it’s a good think unless you one of the thousands who would lose their jobs. Products would become more expensive because it costs more to produce many things in the US than it does in China. Companies would import more form other counties to keep their costs down. Consumers would spend less as products became more expensive. The lower middle class and below would be effected most as they are more likely to purchase the cheaper products. They would also be effected because they are more likey to be employed buy companies and people who depend on those foreign imports.
If we really want products to be made in the USA and we want them to be of quality and priced competitively, the union sturcture must change, the tax structure must change, the environmental laws must change, etc. Until any of that happens, we’re stuck with importing from China and other developing economies with lower cost structures.
Well considering the reason USA has lost many jobs to China is because the labor is cheaper in china, some business would have to close if the owners couldn’t pay their employees
