Unlike incandescent lamps, compact florescent lights use ballasts that increases the overall cost of the light fixture. And if a fault occurs in them, it would result into humming noise. Moreover florescent lights are much more complex and bulkier as compared to incandescent lights or the newer light emitting diodes.

Armed with all this information about compact florescent lights, you would just change the opinion regarding these lights and will gradually switch over to light and compact light emitting diodes to lighten up your house. These are both environmental and body friendly. Government is also taking certain steps like creating disposal grounds for florescent lights to control the ill effects of these lights.
