Whats The Difference Between A Trek Bike Made In The Usa Vs The Trek Bikes Made In China?

The -in-the-USA Treks are usually higher-end , like the carbon-fiber Madone racing . The made-in- Treks are usually lower-end aluminum-frame or cro-moly bikes.
And yes, they are good enough for casual riding.

  1. many companies are having thier lower line bikes made in china. trek isnt the only one. there is nothing wrong with them. now days with machines welding and assembling alluminum, you get a very consisitant, well-made frame. they hold up well and ride decent. there is nothing wrong with these bikes as far as i can tell. in fact, look was having thier frames made in china, and may still do that. then they put the finishing touches on. cycling has went the way of the auto makers and many other companies. china’s labor is cheap. it allows them to make and sell the bikes cheaper. that’s business. you either compete or go out of business, and american labor is just too expensive.

  2. Just to second the first poster: the Trek bikes made in China are good quality bikes. Most bikes under $1000 (and even a good number over) are made in China to the manufacturers specs. The frame is made in China and the components (gears, brakes, etc) are probably made in Japan and China.

  3. chinese can be fine
    wle.
