Horrible Clothes Passing Off As Fashion…what Do You Think?
I just came back from a trip, and went shopping while I was there. I can’t believe the junk that is passing off as fashion these days…poorly made and looking like it is already falling apart ( on purpose, but I think it just makes their poor workmanship even easier to pass off). Places like American Eagle and Hollister seemed to be the worst to me….horrible looking for the most part ( with a few nice things mixed in if you REALLY look hard). I really think that many people shop at some places just so they can seem cool, but I think they end up looking all the same ( which isn’t really cool in my books). And one more thing….why is everything made in China ( where workers are paid very meager wages), yet the consumer here is still being charged ridiculous prices for these clothes.
I agree with you, If I wanted a pair of ripped jeans I could do it myself instead of paying $40 or more. All your paying for these days is the brand name. I still can’t believe leggings with skits are coming back they make me want to vomit. People just by whatever the “fashion” magazines shove down their throats. even if they don’t think it’s cool they’ll still do it because that’s the “fashion”. most times I think Magazines just advertise this stuff to see how ridiculous they can make people look while their sitting in their offices laughing their asses off.
Sadly, the basics of aesthetics, color coordination, and taste are often thrown out simply on the basis of being radical and “different”. Unfortunately, these are given attention by hacks who are just as much sheep to the “new” as the others are then in turn sheep to them. Paying these exprbitant prices for the clothe is also just an accepted fact, rather than paying fair price for these clothes. They turn HUGE profits on these, and the consumers are stupid enough to allow it and even support it fully.
I’d rather wear clothes that are made in China or wherever than wear or buy clothes from tommy hillfiger, dont you know he’s a racist? i read this column and he said that if he only knew that asians would wear his product/clothes he would have not designed such a nice, hip or whatever you call it clothes, damn it…
that’s only because people want 2 B big money. just 2 say they was able 2 get the outfit even if they cant afford the ugly crap
i hate it! nobody is themesleves anymore they all follow the “trend” or the “lastest thing”…. now of days they call it “fashion” i call it a mess
I agree! I’ve seen some things in American Eagle that look like they could have come from somewhere like Good Will. It’s pathetic! 50 bucks for a mini skirt (which looks more like a wide belt), I mean COME ON! Prices are INSANE.
I hate the boho chic. It’s not boho it’s hobo! And at american eagle hollister and abercrombie all your paying for is the label. Most clothes are made cheap i think so that you’ll go buy new clothes every week!
I KNOW I DON’T THINK IT’S COOL. I WENT TO URBAN OUTFITTERS THE OTHER DAY AND HOLES WERE ALREADY IN THE JEANS AND THEY WANTED $85.00 FOR THEM. I CAN PUT HOLES IN MY OWN JEANS. I ALSO CAN’T BELIEVE EVERYONE WAS BUYING THEM.
