Have You Disposed Of Any Food Products Made In China?

http://www.guardian.co.uk//story/0,…

I sure and don´t intend to buy more until the Chinese get a handle on this contaminated product situation. I was going to attend the 2008 summer Olympics but canceled those plans because I wouldn´t trust the that was served. There appears to be a total lack of control and I don´t think it is going to get better until enough people have been killed by their tainted exports be it , baby toys, toothpaste or some other product. Far too many 10 people or less Mom and Pop operations over there which makes it in my opinion totally ungovernable!

  1. Yes, I DID throw away many contaminated food stuff made in China. Contaminated food products are not uncommon in China as there is a lack of control and regulations over there. When I was living in Shanghai, I tried my best not to buy local foodstuff and got my own from my home country whenever I go back for holidays. Other times, I bought those imported food stuff.
I am “looking forward” to seeing how China will impose strict regulations and make sure that there will not be any untoward “food poisoning” during the 2008 Olympics. By the way, did you know that there are fake Olympic tickets too?

  2. Have you ever considered why 1.3 billion Chinese are still alive and well? You are much worst off eating McD’s everyday.

  3. I have just come back from China, the food is very different over there, when eating in the Chinese restaurants I expected it to be like the food in Australian Chinese restaurants, not so very different indeed, I found dairy products hard to get, and most of the milk Soy.
The veggies OK I have been home 8 wks now and feel OK not sick, I found the clothes cheap, toys cheap but the food is definitely different
    Have a great week

  4. Some problems will appear with the rapid development in every country. And China is no exception. It is normal. But I konw that almost all the food made in China is safe.China have set strict food standards and make sure the food meet those standards. Some of the media exaggerated the facts.

  5. You absolutely have the right to stick to what you believe.
I’ve just got off the flight from Beijing and I would be in Beijing quite often till 2008 summer, I’ve been eating / cooking food / ingredients from China, I’m still alive, therefore, I’m here to say thank you for your advice and kind concern, but I will still enjoy Chinese food in any Chinese city.

  6. Well it is up to you of course, but I would still go. The only thing I have gotten rid of was some peanut butter. You have to remember our standards are much higher then the Chinese and if Western countries are going to import things from there, they are the ones who have to set the standards and make sure the Chinese meet those standards.

  7. Don’t worry as much about contamination folks … that’s actually a relatively low risk. I would be much more concerned about the poisons … In my case particularly … Diazonin poisons .. look that up – it’ll scare you. And it is 100% probablility! Not 10 in a billion!
A close relative of cyanide, I’ve been allergic to diazinon since I fell into a sheep dip in the late 1970′s. It’s banned for use here in Australia now and in the US and UK … but – Asian economies coould NOT grow most of their warm climate crops without this insecticide!
You can read the side effects for yourself – but they aint nice and I only had a low-ish one off dose!
Support your own country’s economy and buy regulated food. If you buy imported, check the laws that were enforced in its cfreation or you will be in for a shock like this somewhere!

  8. I had a vase from the Ming dynasty.. I threw it away just to be on the safe side!
