Anyone Know Of Specific Toys That Are Not Made In China?
I went shopping about a month ago for toys not thinking to look to see where they are made. I have to return 90% of them due to being made in China. They’re some fun toys too, but I’m just not taking the risk of lead poisoning. I know that Hasbro and Milton Bradley are made here in the USA and whomever makes those barrel of monkeys things that link together. Anyone have any other SPECIFIC ideas for a two year old girl?
I’ve been googling this subject for a couple of months, and have compiled all my results on my website, http://www.toysmadeinamerica.com. It includes over 100 clickable links to some great companies and products, lots of natural products, etc. I update it on a regular basis as I become aware of more companies to add. Thanks! Teresa
Just because the toy is made in China doesn’t mean it’s filled with lead. Likewise, just because the toy is made in the US doesn’t mean it’s not, either. Especially not with the current hype over lead poisoning. I’d be less concerned about where they come from and focus on how fun they’ll be for your daughter. Encourage her to wash her hands regularly and not put things in her mouth. That should take care of the issue.
I think that BRIO and Leap Frog are made in north america. The best places to go are to those educational toy stores like Scholar’s Choice here in Canada.
Step 2 and Little Tikes have products made in the USA. Just be sure to read carefully that it was made in the USA and not made in the USA of US and imported parts.http://www.step2.com/product.cfm?product…http://www.step2.com/product.cfm?product…http://www.step2.com/product.cfm?product…http://www.step2.com/product.cfm?product…http://www.step2.com/product.cfm?product…http://www.littletikes.com/toys/toys-det…http://www.littletikes.com/toys/toys-det…
