The best way would be to catch a flight between Hong Kong (HK) and Ningbo. Train would take more than a day and would be a bit boring too. By car is tiresome and you would not like the punishing journey.
Located on the Eastern edge of China’s Zhejiang province, the port city of Ningbo is one of the Mainland’s top international trading hubs. Ningbo has undergone significant development and expansion of its infrastructure and facilities – including the now world-class Lishe International Airport. A Hong Kong Express regular return fare from HK to Ningbo costs HK$ 3,300.
I have traveled between HK and Shanghai by Air and it took about 3 hours travel time. So, Ningbo may take around 6-hours from HK. Btw, Ningbo is one of the nice cities in China and I traveled by taxi-car from Shanghai to Ningbo and took bus on way back. The road journey in this leg is enjoyable.
Have a nice journey!
Unless you are in a rush, why would you play over $US200 one way to fly when you can get to Ningbo by train from Guangzhou, it is pretty cheap, about $US45 in soft sleeper. The journey takes about 28 hours, leaving GZ on K210 around 3 pm, arriving in NB at about 7 pm the next day. Nice ride, you sleep on the train, save on hotel, and see the countryside.
