I am an American businessman doing business in Ningbo. I will need a translator for a day while I am there. Can anybody help tell me where to find one?

Best bet is to contact the US Embassy there and ask them for help in finding a translator or yet the company that you are seeing will have some one there that will translat for them and don’t know why he or she wouldn’t translat back to you.
